Under the overall supervision of the Crime Prevention/Law Enforcement Adviser take responsibility for the planning, organization and implementation of all project activities.
More specifically, the incumbent will:
Familiarize himself/herself with UNODC project and training activities in the region, developing a comprehensive appreciation of the conditions and inputs required for successful implementation of respective project in Pakistan.
Ensure full understanding on the part of counterpart law enforcement agencies in Pakistan of project objectives and strategies, of their obligations and inputs and act as UNODC focal point on the project for counterpart agencies
Coordinate UNODC and counterpart inputs with project objectives/activities; Monitor progress with counterpart agencies.
Supervise and/or provide administrative, financial, accounting and reporting services, including the procurement of equipment in accordance with UN rules and regulations.
Whenever related activities are part of the specific project:
ï organize the provision of equipment to agencies
ï organization of / participation in training of agency counterpart staff
ï undertake needs assessments to identify training and/or equipment requirements.
Wherever feasible promote interagency and cross border cooperation including regular exchange of information.
Participate as a resource person/Represent the project in workshops and meetings.
Ensure timely delivery of all UNODC project inputs.
Prepare regular and timely progress reports on all project activities including project expenditure.
Make preparations for project/budget review, evaluation and revisions.
Direct, manage and supervise the work of project staff as required.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
